The Nature of Employment Law
Employment lawyers are generally busy professionals. Whatever the state of the
economy, there seems to be a continual demand for specialists who can advise both
corporates and individuals in a friendly, professional manner with a commercial,
hands-on approach. In an ever-modernising world which requires increasing foreign
and domestic regulation to mirror the uncertainties of the global market, it is
not surprising that an ability to deliver concise, up-to-date knowledge of the
labour laws is worth a tremendous amount to clients.
Firms and companies invariably seek different skill-sets depending on the nature
of their work and the type of role they are looking to fill. Certain roles may
require a particular flair for technical insight whilst others, perhaps, a stronger
set of business development skills. Whatever your specific expertise, whether
contentious, non-contentious and / or transactional, the key to a satisfying job
is finding a position which plays to your strengths in an environment in which
you can thrive.
Determining where this will be, may at times feel overwhelming. Given the increasing
range of choice on offer to employment specialists (part/full time, large or small
firm as against in-house, Partnership or PSL etc) you will want to be satisfied
that you have examined the market as fully as possible safe in the knowledge that
your career is heading in the right direction. At Emmerson Hart, we understand
the importance of market knowledge and personality fit as being critical in achieving job satisfaction. By providing you with the necessary tools to ensure that any
decision made is done with real-time information we like to think that the process
of switching roles should be informative, rewarding and enjoyable. |
