Thinking about your career requires an appreciation of your shifting needs. We
understand that each person will have different objectives and that these can
vary over the course of a lifetime. Some will aim for partnership whilst others
will seek a better work-life balance. Many continue to actively assess whether
they are extracting the most from their job or whether a role elsewhere may prove
more fulfilling.
At Emmerson Hart we aim to give the individual the necessary tools to independently
determine what is in his or her best interest.
Helping someone negotiate the various pitfalls when moving roles is not necessarily
a quick process. Some candidates instinctively know what type of firm they are
after whilst for many this conclusion can take time to evolve with the appropriate
solution only becoming clear after meeting with a wide range of Partners and Practices.
At Emmerson Hart you will not be pressed into making a decision but instead helped
to think about what it is you want from your next move and given the space and
time to independently determine what is best for you.
We understand that fear and apprehension can be very much part and parcel of changing
jobs. Nobody likes uncertainty – leaving the security of a known environment
to move to a new one, can be unnerving. However, in today’s fluid world,
most will seek to change positions several times over the course of a career and
will do so for a variety of reasons, but whatever the cause, very few (if any,
in our experience) will turn around and regret their decision. Seeking new challenges
and finding new environments to work in are an intrinsic part of personal and
professional development and for most it will prove to be a thoroughly rewarding
and re-invigorating process. |

"Ian’s detailed knowledge of employment law departments and individual
employment lawyers is second to none. I value his opinion, and would have no hesitation
in recommending him for employment law recruitment. Ian genuinely cares, and takes
pride in his work, which shows by the way he looks at the fit when placing people."
